Class Notes: March 2020

Paul Winik, MD’ 63 is now retired after practicing pediatrics for over 30 years and then doing part time teaching at the Univ. of Miami school of Medicine, holding the academic rank of full Clinical Prof. of Pediatrics. In his retirement, he has become a writer and has published Tale of an Unlikely Pediatrician. It is his story of being pushed into medicine by my parents, and not desiring to be a doctor, until he developed a passion for pediatrics during his internship.

Harvey Joel Penziner, MD’ 65 retired from Dermatology practice after 47 years in 2017. He has twelve wondrous grandchildren and he is the loving and devoted husband to Roberta Sue Penziner. “Life fellow- AAD. Happy we are.” Dr. Penziner also leaves a message for Dr. Lazzaro: “Dear Cliff L. Be well, dear classmate.”

Douglas Mund, MD’75 is still going strong practicing Rheumatology for 40 years. He is a proud grandfather of 4 wonderful grandchildren (Melanie, 2011).

Stuart Silverstein, MD’ 85 was featured in USA Hockey Magazine’s January 2020 issue.

Anthony J. Accurso, MD ’10 is currently practicing internal medicine and addiction medicine at the Family Health Centers of NYU Brooklyn (former Lutheran Hospital).

Bertram Gold, MD’ 57 April 30, 1932 – Jan 01, 2020 Bertram Gold lived a wonderful life. Married for 61 years to his loving wife Renee, they raised a beautiful family. Their daughter Debra Gold of RI, their daughter Susan Klausner of NJ, and their son Billy Gold of Washington state.

Harvey Orlin, MD’ 61 ORLIN–Harvey, MD. Born June 22, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. Died March 8, 2020 in Old Westbury, NY at the age of 81. Resident of Delray Beach, Florida. Renowned orthopedic surgeon on Long Island for over 50 years. Founder of Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group. Harvey was a brilliant man and student extraordinaire who graduated Stuyvesant High School at 15, New York University at 18, and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine at 22 (first in his class).
