February 6th: “Epidemiologist Sergios-Orestis Kolokotronis, PhD [SUNY Downstate researcher], and scientists from Taiwan, Munich, Berkeley and Madison are examining genome data from every confirmed case of 2019-nCoV to unearth insights into viral emergence.” To read more click here.

February 11th: Third-year medical student, Ryan Bender, has received the 2020 College of Medicine Alumni Association’s Full Year Research Scholarship for his study into in vivo construction of biomimetic breast tissue for breast cancer.
