SUNY Downstate Announcements:
June 27th: Downstate was featured in SUNY News following the renaming of SUNY Downstate to “The State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University.”
July: SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and its residents and faculty are awarded first place and featured in Current Orthopaedic Practice July/August 2019 Issue with “First Place: A Radiographic Analysis of Closed Reduction and Casting of Distal Radial Fractures with Consideration of Candidacy.”
July 18th: Dr. Kevin Menes, who along with other physicians at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, saved 200 gunshot victims from the mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017. On July 17th he trained SUNY Downstate medical students and residents at a Mass Casualty conference held by the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. July 19th: SUNY Downstate’s Dr. Ninfa Mehta, Associate Professor, and Director, Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Residency Program, is featured on the SUNY YouTube channel giving tips on heat safety.
